MCB is recruiting for a full-time Memorial Services Officer to join our Client Services Division, based at Karrakatta cemetery. Applicants seeking part-time work will also be considered, to job-share the full-time role.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. However, applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process could be offered a similar role as vacancies arise during the next 12 months across at MCB sites at Karrakatta, Fremantle or Pinnaroo.
ABOUT THE JOB
The key responsibilities for the role of Memorial Services Officer are to:
- Prepare sites and place plaques and ashes in memorial locations and family graves.
- Conduct memorial and ashes placements with families in attendance according to client’s wishes.
- Check memorial plaques against client orders and supplier invoices.
- Transfer ashes into decorative urns.
- Accurately maintain data using the Cemetery Records System.
The successful applicant may be required to work at other sites and on rostered Saturday mornings.
Our Client Services staff play a key role in our core business areas, providing sensitive services to the WA Community.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR - WORK RELATED REQUIREMENTS

Essential:
- Ability to work and maintain a high level of accuracy and excellent customer focus in a high volume work environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively with people and customers at all levels.
- Physical ability to undertake digging and manual handling work efficiently without direct supervision.
- Experience in handling sensitive and complex issues.
- Computer literacy, including skills in word processing packages, email and internet use.
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies and procedures.
- Commitment to ethical decision making.
- ‘C’ class (manual) Driver’s Licence.
Desirable:
- Understanding of, and experience in, working in an environment requiring a balance between commercial and community obligations.
