The position A rare and exciting opportunity is on offer by the Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia (MRIWA) for an influential role at the forefront of minerals industry research in WA.
A key component of the role is to champion adoption of research findings across the mining sector and lead the education program.
Reporting to the CEO, the Research Portfolio Manager will play an integral role:
- Identifying and developing new opportunities for minerals research with researchers and industry; and
- Managing our existing portfolio of investment in research.

Job Requirements and Capabilities You will have a relevant Bachelor degree or higher, be an experienced project management professional and have a background in operations and research relevant to the minerals industry.
Highly developed science communication and interpersonal skills including experience with negotiation and representation, and proven ability to establish and maintain strong and productive relationships and networks to achieve outcomes working collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders are necessary.
Background
The Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia is a statutory body established by the Western Australian Government under the Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia Act 2013 to stimulate minerals research to support investment in, and operation of, a globally competitive minerals industry in Western Australia.
MRIWA’s primary function is to provide and administer funding grants to carry out minerals research. The Institute is able to collaborate with industry companies and research institutions in WA, Australia and worldwide.
