The Role
The Contaminated Site Project Manager provides professional and technical support on environmental matters to the Environmental Manager consistent with the Public Transport Authority’s (PTA) environmental obligations and its Environmental Management System. You will manage the PTA’s contaminated sites and asbestos programs, including budgeting, procurement and reporting to the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) and report on the progress of these sites to the Environmental Manager. Additional responsibilities include procuring and managing environmental consultants and assisting with the procurement and management of Contaminated Sites Consultancy Panel.
To be successful in this position it is essential that you meet all the core competencies requirements of this position. You need to possess a degree in environmental science, environmental management or related discipline or have significant relevant experience in the management of contaminated sites. You also need extensive knowledge and experience with managing complex contaminated sites projects and asbestos investigations, remediation and monitoring and projects which are subject to audit by a DWER accredited auditor. Knowledge and understanding of the Contaminated Sites Act 2003, the national Environment Protection measure 1999 and its application is of paramount importance.
