Specified Calling Level 1- $70,597 - $91,345 gross per annum.
2 x Fixed Term, Full Time positions ending on 30/6/2021.

The Legal Aid WA Regional Graduate Program is a great opportunity to fast track your legal career with comprehensive training, professional support, responsibility, diverse work opportunities, amazing life experience and a generous salary package.
The successful applicants will receive training in Legal Aid WA’s Perth office before undertaking a placement to work in a Legal Aid WA regional office. You will provide a range of services to the local community, in the areas of family, criminal and civil law including duty lawyer services, alternative dispute resolution, community legal education, legal advice and minor assistance, circuit travel and outreach.
To be eligible, applicants must be admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Western Australia, with no more than two years post-admission experience. Applicants who have completed the requirements for admission (including practical legal training requirements) and have a set admission date will also be considered.
Legal Aid WA is an independent statutory authority funded by the State Government and Commonwealth Governments. It provides services to over 100,000 clients each year in the areas of criminal, family and civil law and through Legal Aid offices in Perth, Bunbury, Albany, Kalgoorlie, Geraldton, South Hedland, Broome, Kununurra, Carnarvon and Christmas Island.

The selection panel will use the role specific requirements and core competencies outlined in the Job Description Form to assess your suitability for the position. Your cover letter (maximum 2 pages) should address your ability to meet the advertised requirements, focusing mainly on the criteria highlighted in the Job Description form (refer to attachments). Candidates who are selected for interview will be asked to demonstrate their ability against ALL selection criteria at the interview stage.

This selection process will be initially used to fill the above vacancy and it might also be used to fill other similar full or part time vacancies within our organisation. Alternatively, should the successful candidate decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable candidate may be selected from this process. Both options remain valid for up to 24 months (unless otherwise stated) from the completion date of the initial selection process. Should no suitable candidate be identified, or an offer declined, the panel may search for further candidates beyond the closing date.
The successful applicant may be entitled to an extra week of annual leave, annual leave travel concession, air conditioning allowance and a district allowance in accordance with the provisions of the award and agreement.
