The Office of the Auditor General for Western Australia, the largest and most complex audit practice in WA, is an independent agency reporting directly to Parliament on public sector accountability and performance. We have a reputation for excellence and are a key source of independent and objective information for Parliament and the community.
The Financial Audit team provides Parliament with audit opinions on the financial statements, controls and key performance indicators of State government agencies, and provides audit opinions on the financial statements of local government entities to the Minister, Council and CEO. Your work will result in the effective and efficient issuing of audit opinions to satisfy the independent, statutory objectives of the Auditor General.
Is this for you?
Ideal candidates will have a relevant financial qualification, and be a member or undertaking membership with a professional body. Preferred candidates will have at least 2 years of external financial auditing experience and:
- a commitment to team support and outcomes
- experience interpreting and applying auditing and accounting standards
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- a record of quality outcome delivery under tight deadlines.
There are two permanent full-time positions available for immediate filling. Employment offers will be made based on candidate skills, experience and suitability for the role. While this selection process will initially be used to appoint to these advertised vacancies, it may also be used to appoint to a similar position on a temporary or permanent basis that may arise in the Office within the next 3 months.
