Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
Position Profile: We are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced individual with a passion for rural and remote healthcare to the newly created position of Director Medical Services at Albany Health Campus (AHC). This dynamic position will oversee day to day operational management of medical services and provide medical leadership including coordination of Medical Clinical Governance and continuous improvement activities for the site. This position will establish and maintain collaborative relationships with clinical services providers’ ensuring high quality and safe clinical care is provided to the local community.
In addition, the Director Medical Services will work in partnership and support the Regional Medical Director in implementing the WACHS Great Southern Strategic Directives, ensuring the regional health network performance.
Area Profile: The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia. Our core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to country WA residents and visitors.
The area supported by WA Country Health Service (WACHS) – Great Southern is approximately 39,000 km2 in the southern-most part of WA. It is bounded by Woodanilling in the north, Ravensthorpe/Hopetoun in the east, Nornalup in the west (informally extended to Walpole), and Albany in the south. The area has a population of around 55,000, including 3% indigenous Australians. The majority of people live in the main towns: Albany, Denmark, Katanning, Kojonup and Mount Barker. Albany Health Campus is the main hospital within the region and the secondary referral centre for the region.

Qualifications: Eligible for registration by the Medical Board of Australian. It is beneficial that the applicant have/or be working towards post graduate qualifications in medical administration or business and/or have significant demonstrated experience in Medical Administration.
