Heavy Vehicle Route Assessment Team Leader

We are currently seeking a Heavy Vehicle Route Assessment Team Leader to be based at our Redcliffe Office, who has the capability to supervise a small team of Heavy Vehicle Service Officers (HVSO) in the technical assessment of Restricted Access Vehicles (RAV), i.e. road trains’ access to the road network.
About the Role
Reporting to the Heavy Vehicle Access Improvement and Policy Manager, you will be working closely within a dedicated team of approximately 10 individuals across the Heavy Vehicle Services (Access Section) Branch. You will be actively supervising the provision of guidance and advice on all aspects of route assessments, including advice to transport operators, to achieve alignment with Branch deliverables.
An overarching objective of this role is to supervise the day to day operations relating to route assessments for RAV, whilst providing team leadership and commitment for the provision of customer focused service. It is expected that the person in the position can be flexible in their availability after hours, to support the needs of the Branch in regard to route assessment related incidents.
About You
Drawing on your strong knowledge of associated legislations and procedures, you will be able to effectively review and advise on RAV access for major road network projects and expansions. Therefore, it is essential that you have expertise in Interpreting and applying legislations, policies and practices in a regulatory environment, as well as experience in technical assessment practices.
Your ability to develop positive, professional relationships will be well utilised when engaging in collaborative working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Your interpersonal communication capabilities are essential in order to work across the Branch to successfully contribute to business improvement projects.
