If you said ‘yes’, then you may be one of the dedicated Environmental Officers we are looking for to form part of our team.
There are currently two positions for immediate filling; one position for permanent appointment and one position fixed term for up to 30 June 2019 with possibility of extension and/or permanency.
The position
The Resource and Environmental Compliance Division is responsible for the management of compliance and enforcement activities across the resource sector, including the provision of environmental approvals and compliance.
As a Senior Environmental Officer you will provide specialist and technical advice to a variety of internal and external stakeholders in relation to various legislative Acts. Using your experience in environmental management, you will undertake assessments of detailed and/or complex resource sector proposals and conduct compliance inspections.
Your highly effective communication skills will assist you in preparing reports, documents and correspondence related to assessments and decisions made on various applications.
What do you require to successfully undertake the role?
To undertake this role successfully you require:
- A Bachelor of Science, Environmental Science or Natural Resource Management degree or an approved equivalent degree.
- Considerable knowledge and significant experience in environmental management including the assessment of environmental aspects and risks associated with mineral and petroleum proposals.
- Significant experience in preparing reports on complex environmental assessments, investigations and/or analytical research.
