The Auditor General is a critical statutory and integrity role serving the public interest by improving public sector performance and accountability for state and local government entities.
The Office of the Auditor General is a key source of independent and objective information for Parliament and the community on public sector efficiency and effectiveness and whether the community receives value for its tax dollars.

The Deputy Auditor General:
- is formally sworn in as Acting Auditor General and assumes full responsibilities of that Office in the absence of the Auditor General
- provides strategic and operational leadership and development that ensures achievement of the vison, mission and operational outcomes of the Auditor General
- provides strategic and operational leadership and development that ensures audit reporting quality, relevance and compliance with the Auditor General’s objectives
- maintains a continuous program of stakeholder engagement with Members and Committees of Parliament, Ministers, central government agencies, CEOs and other stakeholders.

This position will be offered as a 5 year fixed term contract, with an option to renew.
