This position is part of the Aboriginal Employment Program (AEP) which is a diversity initiative to achieve equality and increase workforce representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people at the department. We are seeking a Relieving Tenure Officer to undertake the role of a Tenure Officer in Head Office (Perth) and in regional offices (Meekatharra, Leonora etc.) as and when required. The Resource Tenure Division is responsible for administrating the grant of tenure for exploration and production, and facilitates access to land for resource activities.
As the Relieving Tenure Officer, you will be required to travel to remote regional offices across the state. Ability to travel and be away from home for periods of time is necessary for this role and allowances may be available when performing relieving duties at DMIRS regional offices.
What is the Aboriginal Employment Program about?
The AEP is a 12 month program which provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people employment and career development opportunities. The program commences in early January 2019.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander candidates with the following skills and attributes:
- Current 'C' class Western Australian driver's licence, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation.
- Demonstrated ability or experience to deal with complex issues arising from the processes of applications.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately produce a range of business documents such as policies, procedures, briefings and reports.
Please note that completion of a National Police Clearance, Pre-Employment Conflict of Interest Declaration and Confirmation of Aboriginality will form a part of the selection process.
