Legal Aid WA seeks candidates interested in applying for entry into a Legal Secretary Pool for positions which may become available in our Perth office over the next twelve months.
Working in a team the legal secretary provides a high standard of secretarial and administrative support to our team of lawyers. We are looking for flexible self-starters with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to manage a range of tasks. The candidates will have 12 months experience in a secretarial role, a demonstrated ability to work with templates and original word documents, fast and accurate dictaphone and/or copy typing skills, excellent attention to detail and a good understanding of legal terminology.
Experience in the legal sector will be highly regarded.

Selection Criteria
The selection panel will use the selection criteria and core competencies outlined in the Job Description Form to assess your suitability for the position. Your cover letter should demonstrate your ability to meet these, focusing mainly on the criteria highlighted.
Candidates who are selected for interview will be asked to demonstrate their ability against ALL selection criteria (level 1 and 2) at interview stage.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, and it might also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout our organisation. Alternatively, should the successful candidate decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable candidate may be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months (unless otherwise stated) from the completion date of the initial selection process. Should no suitable candidate be identified, or an offer declined, the panel may search for further candidates beyond the closing date.
