Conditions This is for 1 (one) full time, permanent vacancy. There will also be a Pool running for a period of 12 months from the initial appointment. Applicants deemed suitable will be placed into a pool where appointments may be considered for similar vacancies for full-time, part-time, fixed term or permanency.
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.
Location This position is located in the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, in Western Australia's Goldfields region famed for its fascinating gold rush history, fabulous old buildings and old gold miners' ghost towns.
Job Description The WA Museum is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join the Museum in the role of Regional Manager of the Museum of the Goldfields.
As the Regional Manager you will be responsible for:
- leading and managing the team in the planning and implementation of museum public exhibitions, events and activities;
- ensuring service quality and continuous improvement;
- effectively developing and implementing marketing strategies and initiatives that promotes, recognise local, regional and West Australian history and environment that enhance both local and visitor experiences; and
- identifying and pursuing alternative funding opportunities including sponsorships and grants.
To be successful in this role you will have knowledge and experience of museums, possess strong leadership qualities, excellent verbal and written communication skills and a management style which is inclusive and focused on operational and customer delivery outcomes. Your outstanding relationship-building, networking and negotiation skills will also be critical to your success in the role.
