Traffic Operations Supervisor
In response to the growing concern around congestion, Main Roads Western Australia created a new Network Operations Directorate. The key role of this Directorate is to optimise the performance of the existing road network to facilitate the movement of people and freight safely, reliably and efficiently throughout Western Australia.
Main Roads are seeking an enthusiastic professional to join the Network Operations team as Traffic Operations Supervisor.
A single vacancy is being advertised, however a ‘pool’ of suitable applicants will be established through this recruitment process and will operate for up to 12 months. Applicants may be appointed to roles as required.
About the Role
The Traffic Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising the activities of Main Roads’ Traffic Operations Centre (TOC) Control Room to mitigate traffic congestion on the metropolitan road network. This role will see you coordinating resources and activities during incidents that impact the road network, as well as monitoring the CBD and deploying clearway management resources as required.
The Traffic Operations Supervisor will be required to undertake rostered work shifts and provide on-call availability on weekends and in-person availability during emergency situations.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have considerable experience in traffic management, including in emergency situations. You will have strong investigation, analysis and problem solving skills, as well as the proven ability to build and enhance relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This role will see you supervising a small team of Traffic Operations Officers, hence the ability to supervise behaviour, performance and development will be critical.
