This is a permanent part-time (0.5) position commencing Term 2, 2018.
Rossmoyne Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Teacher - Secondary to coordinate Teacher Relief. The successful applicant will demonstrate a commitment to excellence and have the ability to maintain and increase the pool of high quality relief Teachers to support the school in achieving the best possible educational outcomes for our students.
The Teacher Secondary – Relief Coordinator role requires the successful applicant to possess strong communication skills and the ability to maintain a calm and professional service whilst prioritising and dealing with conflicting deadlines. They will be highly motivated with the ability to work independently, collaboratively as part of a team environment and in conjunction with a diverse range of individuals and professionals.
Responsibilities include taking on significant levels of accountability while coordinating Teacher Relief, ensuring compliance, inducting new Teachers to promote quality teaching and undertaking relief when they are unable to allocate staff. Previous experience as a Relief Coordinator and/or using SEQTA and the SIS Cover module in a similar context will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant will possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. You will build positive relationships with students and staff to support positive futures for students. You will be performance driven and utilise evidence based decision-making skills.
The successful applicant will be familiar with our Future Readiness Framework;
- Knowledge: Knowing your curriculum and your students, having continued focus on your own professional learning.
- Skills of teaching (Instructional Framework): Having a variety of organised teaching strategies (Instructional Framework), including ICT, that cater to individual needs and allow for differentiation. Establishing relevance, connection, engagement, motivation and collaboration.
- Wellbeing: Through positive relationships, effective communication, collegiality, classroom management and cultural awareness. Prioritising Staff and Student wellbeing
- Feedback/Reflection: On your professional practice. Providing support for colleagues. students and parents.

Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for permanent appointments to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
