Senior Electrical Standards Engineer
Main Roads Western Australia has a rapidly growing network of electrical assets. Since the inception of the Asset Management Traffic Systems team ten years ago, Main Roads has seen a 90% increase in the number of Intelligent Transport System (ITS) assets. There has been a refocus on the electrical asset management section to be a strategic electrical asset management role, to ensure Main Roads is prepared for the substantial increase of electrical assets that are reaching the end of their serviceable life.
About the Role
Main Roads are seeking a professional and driven individual to join the Electrical Standards Team as Senior Electrical Standards Engineer. Reporting to Principal Electrical Standards Engineer, this role is responsible for the development and review of Electrical and ITS specifications, design and drawing standards. The Senior Electrical Standards Engineer will also provide design review engineering advice on proposed electrical and ITS assets, and their compliance with standards.
This senior role requires substantive major project design team experience, in respect of both design calculations and drawing development as you will be providing advice and direction to project and maintenance teams.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have substantial experience in electrical design and standards, the preparation of electrical and ITS drawings and specifications, and the use of ITS applications, solutions and systems. Your experience at a senior level on major projects involving highly complex electrical, instrumentation and controls engineering will enable you to confidently provide the required level of advice and direction. You will have the ability to manage staff behaviour, performance and development.
