Yanchep Beach Primary School (PS) is seeking a highly motivated Cleaner in Charge to join their team.
The successul applicant will be responsible for the organising and supervising of school cleaning staff, including arranging relief staff, job inductions for new staff, liaising with the relevant line manager on cleaning matters, carrying cleaning of internal and external areas and ensuring emptying of all rubbish containers. As a Cleaner in Charge you would also be responsible for highlighting issues and concerns on behalf of cleaners and respond to issues raised by other school staff. Ideally successful applicants will possess great communication skills and experience in supervising staff. Cleaner in charge will show punctuality and comply with Department of Education Policy and Procedures within their role.
Yanchep Beach PS is located in Yanchep, within a new coastal estate, 60 kilometres north of Perth. Yanchep Beach PS opened in January 2014 in a new, growing area in the north metropolitan region of Perth. The school has grown in student and staff numbers rapidly and currently caters for 700 students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for fixed term or permanent appointments to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a ten (10) day breach period to this selection process.
