Duncraig Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an enthusiastic teacher of Physical Education to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will establish themselves as part of a cohesive learning team and develop an understanding of the school ethos, culture and policies and procedures. They will ideally have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute positively in a team environment. The successful applicant will also ideally have the capacity to incorporate information communication technology (ICT) into the classroom and a familiarity with a 1 to 1 mixed platform student device environment.
The successful applicant will be an outstanding Physical Education practitioner with a broad skill base and the willingness to work as part of a dynamic team that goes the extra yard to provide opportunities and learning experiences to students at school and as part of extracurricular activities. They will ideally have the knowledge, skills and ability to teach all aspects of Outdoor Education to Year 12 level, combined with an MR or HR licence with F endorsement.
Situated in the western suburbs two kilometres from the Indian Ocean, Duncraig SHS caters for students from Year 7 to Year 12 in Duncraig and surrounding areas. High academic standards are set which are endeavoured to be achieved through hard work, parent support, high quality teaching and constantly improving resources and facilities. Duncraig SHS has a collegial school community, with a supportive executive team, combined with strong pedagogical and collaborative practices. Staff members are provided with the opportunity to participate in ongoing school based professional development programs.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for fixed term appointments to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
