Thornlie Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to appoint an energetic and dedicated Physical Education Teacher, specialising in Rugby.
Thornlie SHS are a seeking teacher who can teach Specialist Rugby across Years 7-12 as well as the ability to teach additional classes across the Health & Physical Education Learning Area.
The focus of our specialist program is Rugby Union, so a coaching accreditation of Level 1 or 2 in Rugby Union is preferred and the ability to teach Rugby League is also required. A sound knowledge and affiliation with local rugby clubs and the community is key to success in this position. Having a strong background in Strength and Conditioning Training and a current bus licence is also preferred.
The succesful applicant will be highly organised and have excellent written and oral communication skills. Teachers who can create a learning environment that is differentiated, challenging, caring, and creative and that caters for the range of needs so all students may achieve and progress are encouraged to apply.
The succesfful applicant will have the ability to work collaboratively to plan and implement effective teaching and learning plans. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for fixed term appointments to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
