Rossmoyne Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to appoint an energetic and enthusiastic teacher that has qualifications and/or experience with special needs and disengaged students. The successful applicant will be highly motivated and able to work effectively in a team environment, as well as demonstrate quality teaching which enables students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes possible. Ideally they will have qualifications and/or experience working with students with Autism, disengaged students and/or dealing with challenging behaviours.
To be successful in this role they will have experience in planning and delivering alternate educational programs to a range of abilities. They will demonstrate a commitment to excellence and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive learning environment. They will be able to develop and implement enriching learning experiences for individuals or small groups of students with specific learning needs. Holding a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or a willingness to complete the necessary training is desirable.
As the successful applicant, they will possess strong communication, interpersonal and leaderships skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. They will build positive relationships with student, parents, external agencies and the community to support positive futures for students. They will be performance driven and utilise evidence based decision-making skills. The successful applicant will demonstrate alignment with our School Instructional Framework. He/she will:

- Be a reflective practitioner that understands the importance of quality feedback
- Demonstrate positive outcomes using innovative teaching and learning strategies to engage students

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for fixed term or permanent appointments to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
