The State Library of Western Australia seeks to treasure the stories of Western Australia, champion literacy and learning, cultivate creative ideas and lead the development of the Western Australian public library network.
Conditions
This is a full-time, fixed-term vacancy, for a period of 18 months with the possibility of extension.
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department of Culture and the Arts Police Record Screening Policy.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within the Culture and Arts Portfolio and/or the wider public sector which arise within a reasonable period of time. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Future vacancies may be considered for fixed term, part- time and full- time positions.
Location
This position is located in central Perth within the Cultural Centre hub close to the bustling café, tourist and shopping districts.
Job Description
Coordinates Aboriginal community engagement and all project deliverables relating to the partnership project From Another View funded by Minderoo Foundation. The project will facilitate community and artistic engagement with select Aboriginal communities in the areas roughly traversed by John Forrest in his 1874 expedition from Geraldton to Adelaide. The project aims to broaden understanding of cross-cultural encounters by engaging Aboriginal perspectives in the re-telling of Western Australian exploration history.
