This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2018
Carnaby Rise Primary School (PS) is seeking an energetic and passionate Physical Education Teacher to join their team of teachers.
The successful applicant will be highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic in the promotion of Physical Education within the school and will be responsible for the coordination and organisation of all school sporting events. The successful applicant will be well organised and committed to developing positive relationships and high expectations for all students. They will ideally have knowledge and competencies in the Physical and Health Education component of the Western Australian Curriculum and reporting schedule. Experience in teaching students from Pre-Primary to Year 6 is desirable. There is also a possibility that the successful applicant will need to fulfil a classroom teacher role.
Carnaby Rise PS is looking for a teacher who is collaborative, is able to work effectively in teams and has contemporary teaching pedagogy. Applicants will have excellent interpersonal skills in order to develop effective relationships with students, staff and parents. The Carnaby Rise PS staff work as a Professional Learning Community where the focus is on student work and results so that teachers can respond to students’ needs and use this information to inform professional practice. Through this collaborative effort staff share knowledge, develop best practice and have common goals to ensure quality teaching. As a teacher of Carnaby Rise PS you will be student focused, collaborative, highly motivated, energetic and possess the qualities to be reflective and responsive to feedback.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for fixed term appointments to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
