Appointment Pool
Woodvale Secondary College (SC) is seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2018 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2018 school year.
Suitable applicants will have a focus on student achievement and high expectations combined with a thorough knowledge of the Health and Physical Education curriculum and be able to engage students in their learning. Ideally, applicants will be able to extend high performing students, promote active learning and provide learning opportunities which engage students at all levels to achieve their potential and will embrace and commit to the schools’ ethos and vision.
Although not essential, it is highly desirable that recommended applicants have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment as well as the capacity to teach the Certificate II Sports Coaching (Basketball).

Woodvale SC is located some 20kms north of the city of Perth, and has approximately 1500 students from Years 7 to 12. The College enjoys the expertise of highly trained staff and the stability of small staff turnover. In recent years the College has provided many nominations for Teacher of the Year Awards.
Academically, Woodvale SC students perform at a level above the State average. The College has specialist Basketball and Soccer programs in which teams consistently perform outstandingly at both a State and National level. There is also a specialist Music program that offers students many opportunities to perform, including internationally. Woodvale SC is an Asian Hub school and has sister-school relationships with schools in China and Japan. Physical facilities are equal or better than any public school in the state.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
