This is a temporary opportunity for a period of up to 12 months. Existing Main Roads or public sector employees are encouraged to apply. The most competitive applicant will be offered the position as an expression of interest, secondment opportunity or fixed term contract depending on their circumstance.
About the Role
Supply & Transport Branch is responsible for procuring goods, works and services conforming to corporate values of equity, accountability, ethical behaviour and value for money. This is accomplished in accordance with the supply policies and practices established by the State Supply Commission.
The key role of the Senior Contracts Officer position is to assist with the tendering & quotation process, attend to general procurement inquiries, undertake purchasing and contract administration including maintaining the electronic contract administration and purchasing systems. The Senior Contracts Officer undertakes probity audits for low risk low value contracts and facilitates purchasing from Main Roads panel contracts and Department of Finance common use arrangements and reporting on the operation of these contracts. The role also contributes to the development of systems, policy and procedures relating to non-complex procurement functions.
