The Office of the Auditor General for Western Australia is an independent agency reporting directly to Parliament on public sector accountability and performance. We are the largest and most complex audit practice in WA and are able to offer unique opportunities to our talented people. The Financial Audit unit provides Parliament with audit opinions on state government financial statements, controls and performance indicators. We are also anticipating responsibility for financial statement auditing of local government in the near future. With 180 Public Sector Agencies and 139 local government entities, there will be plenty of variety in assignments. As an OAG Auditor you will undertake assurance auditing operations for a diverse range of government entities, ensuring the effective and efficient issuing of audit opinions to satisfy the independent, statutory objectives of the Auditor General.
There is currently 1 full-time permanent position available for immediate filling. While this selection process will initially be used to appoint to this vacancy, it may also be used to appoint additional applicants to similar positions that may arise in the Office within the next 5 months. Please note that being placed in the pool does not guarantee placement in a position.

Our ideal candidate will have a relevant financial qualification and full membership of a relevant professional accounting body or, if other relevant professional studies have been completed, associate membership and progression towards full membership, as well as:
- experience leading external auditing operations for a portfolio of clients
- experience providing effective judgements and technical guidance
- a strong record of outcome delivery under tight deadlines
- excellent liaison, interpersonal and relationship management skills.
