Job Description
This is a full time, fixed term position until 30 June 2018 with the possibility of extension up to 12months and/or permanent appointment.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced lawyer, with an awareness of Aboriginal legal issues and a passion for helping others to address their legal problems to work in our team operating out of Kalgoorlie. You will be responsible for delivering a range of complex legal services, with an emphasis on family law and criminal law litigation and will also undertake regular outreach to circuit courts and communities which involves overnight stays and travel by light aircraft. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and as part of a small team in often high pressure situations that might be time sensitive or require high level communication skills to manage clients presenting with drug and alcohol issues, mental health issues or presenting as generally distressed.
This position is well suited to experienced solicitors and presents challenging, yet rewarding opportunities for personal development.
