About the Role
The purpose of the Program Management Office (PMO) is to deliver a service to Main Roads stakeholders that will support the agency’s project management effort and promote consistent project and contract management practices across the organisation. The PMO is a small and dynamic team located within the Finance and Commercial Services Directorate.
In this role you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing cost estimates for road and bridge works using first principles estimating and for providing support and advice to Project Directors/Managers on commercial issues. This includes negotiation and settlement of variations and contractual claims.
You will also be responsible for undertaking specific research projects related to cost estimating and providing commercial advice for tender assessment and for the preparation of contract documentation, in particular pricing schedules.
About You
You will have demonstrated experience and expertise in construction costing and estimating for earthwork and civil infrastructure projects. Substantial experience in claims management in the WA civil environment is essential as well as strong research, analytical and problem solving skills.

Considering the nature of the position and complexities of Main Roads projects, strong negotiation and facilitation skills are essential.
