Corporate Risk and Legal Co-ordinator
Main Roads Western Australia is a State Government agency responsible for the State's highways and main roads. With an expansive asset portfolio and a long term strategic vision for the state, we are committed to providing a safe, reliable and sustainable road based transport network, focused on our customer’s needs and values. We work in partnership with The Department of Transport and the Public Transport Authority, to deliver integrated and intelligent transport systems and services.
About the Role
The Legal and Commercial Services Branch is a small, dynamic team that provides a variety of legal and commercial advice and solutions to support the successful management and delivery of fundamental corporate risk and legal services.
To support our strategic approach to risk, this role is primarily responsible for coordinating the development and management of the overall Risk Management Framework for Main Roads; whilst directly co-ordinating the activities relating to the management of corporate risk, management and mitigation of fraud and corruption, and business continuity.
You will be required to think both pragmatically and strategically, moving away from a solely process-driven approach, to incorporate integrity awareness and commercial capability into our risk management methodology. Using your skills in relationship development, you will work closely with other stakeholders, to identify opportunities for improvement and to effectively facilitate the delivery of customer service.
About You
You have demonstrated abilities in developing policy frameworks and undertaking policy research and project management on legal and commercial policy matters; including risk management, corporate governance, fraud detection and corruption, as well as business continuity.
With the area being the overall framework owner for risk (including directly responsible for corporate risk, management and mitigation of fraud and corruption, and business continuity), your ability to have an impact and make a difference is significant. Therefore, it is essential that you have a good balance of experience in delivering pragmatic business solutions through influence and cultural change, together with the ability to systematically work through a scalable management system approach to key corporate policies in a large, complex and regionally diverse business.
Our partnerships are important to us, hence your ability to develop positive, professional, collaborative relationships will be well utilised when engaging with a range of internal and key external stakeholders. Considering the nature of the position, your leadership capabilities coupled with the enthusiasm to promote progress, are essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and driven person to develop their career, by joining an innovative team within an organisation embarking on an exciting period of change. Our environment encourages people to improve business practices and actively contribute to the strategic direction of Main Roads.
Should you wish to build your future and grow as a person and a professional, think about a career with Main Roads Western Australia. If you possess the required skills and this position interests you, we encourage you to apply.
