About the Role
The Legal and Commercial Services Branch is a small, dynamic team that provides a variety of insurance, legal and commercial advice and solutions to support the delivery of our projects. Through our insurance provider, Main Roads holds a Principal Controlled Insurance Program, to confidently engage our contractors when working on major development projects.
To support all aspects of our approach to corporate insurance management, this role is primarily responsible for coordinating the provision of insurance coverage such as public liability/contract works polices through our brokers, and overseeing the claims management process (including litigation).
You will be required to pay close attention to managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders through the exchange of information for the purpose of coordinating the management of policies and claims, as well as the provision of specialist support and advice. This will include strategies around insurance policies being put in place and claims management. It will also involve the analysis of policies and claims to inform these strategies, including educating the organisation and our contractors on trends and best practice.
About You
To assist you to monitor progress and negotiate options for the Branch, it is essential that you have a good balance of experience in providing commercially focused insurance services and problem solving and evaluation competencies, as well as a tactical approach to analysis and reporting.
