Similar appointments may be made from this process in locations throughout Western Australia within a 12 month period to positions that may be permanent or contract, including contract appointments with the possibility of subsequent permanency.

Job Description
Under the limited supervision of the District Manager, the World Heritage Program Manager is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of public education, community liaison and interpretative programs for the Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Area. This is an exciting opportunity to work with visitors, the community and other staff to raise awareness and understanding of the Ningaloo Coast's outstanding values.
The role is also responsible for coordinating the running of and facilitating executive support for the Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Advisory Committee (NCWHAC) and coordinates UNESCO and Federal government reporting requirements, funding requirements and other responsibilities associated with the world heritage listing.
Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following five (5) criteria in a written application. These should be addressed in no more than four (4) pages in total.

Considerable experience in liaising, consulting and negotiating effectively with senior officers of State, Commonwealth and local governments, external organisations, community, Aboriginal groups, individual stakeholders and the media, to deliver positive and effective outcomes.

Considerable experience and knowledge in financial management, administration, project management and contract management with a preference for someone with knowledge of government financial administration practices.

Experience in managing and motivating a small workforce and encouraging and supporting cultural change within a work area.

Knowledge of World Heritage and conservation and land management principles, including knowledge of both marine and terrestrial conservation issues.

Experience in, developing and implementing communication, public education, interpretation and community awareness plans.
