Rossmoyne Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an energetic, inspiring and dynamic educational leader to take up a new position as Program Coordinator – Senior Years (Years 10-12). This represents an exciting opportunity for a school leader who demonstrates the vision, experience, professional knowledge and skills required to lead the senior students to academic success at Rossmoyne Senior High School.
About the role
As the Program Coordinator – Senior Years you will monitor and track student progress, introduce collaborative and effective intervention strategies to ensure academic success and report against targets outlined in the school’s Business Plan. To successfully fulfil the role you will have considerable knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and Western Australian Certificate of Education, and the ability to apply and explain this knowledge in a variety of situations and to a range of audiences.
Your organisational and planning skills will enable you to support the Associate Principal - Senior Years to arrange course counselling, transition programs, assemblies and parent information evenings.
One of your key responsibilities will be to develop and deliver programs that support the school’s vision: Our students become future ready. This includes community service, endorsed programs, university preparation, love of learning and core skills development.
Positive public relations skills are essential, as the role includes liaising with parents, publicising and promoting student, staff and school achievements. With the commitment and desire to create and sustain a student-centred learning environment, you will communicate positively and effectively whilst at all times modelling and promoting the school’s vision, mission and core values.
This role may also have a teaching component.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
