The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all Western Australian students to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.
The Principal Consultant – Vocational Education and Training (VET), possess a high level of knowledge, experience and expertise at the interface of secondary school education, the Vocational Education and Training sector, industry and the relevant national and state government policies and initiatives. The position monitors the implementation of Authority developed VET courses, projects/initiatives, programs and their review.
The Principal Consultant – Vocational Education and Training, provide advice, correspondence, reports and briefings for the Minister, the Authority Board, education systems and sector, the Chief Executive Officer and Executive group and key stakeholders on VET related matters at both a state and national level. The position liaise, consult, and provide information and advice as necessary to education systems and sectors, registered training organisations and universities, government and non-government schools, teachers, parent groups, industry and community on VET in secondary education matters. The position is also responsible for data analysis and quality assurance processes relating to WACE certification and the integrity of VET data in student records and reports.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout our agency. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from when the Chief Executive Officer endorses the recruitment decision.
