The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all Western Australian students to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.
The Manager, Strategic and External Relations manages the development of complex policy, research and evaluation tasks and review of programs related to the Authority's core business. The position provides strategic direction in the development of policy and procedures for the Authority's Pre-primary to Year 12 international education program and manages the quality assurance of the implementation of this program.
The Manager, Strategic and External Relations facilitates collaborative processes between the school systems and sector, schools and other stakeholder organisations, including universities and Technical and Further Education Colleges, to share and generate ideas and monitor and review processes. The position also provides advice, correspondence and briefings to the Minister for Education, Board, school systems and members of the Authority’s Executive and the Chief Executive Officer as required.
The Manager, Strategic and External Relations manages a range of special projects that require consistent approaches across the team by monitoring regularly and reviewing project budgets ensuring that the expenses managed do not exceed allocated funds. The position is responsible for the reporting on project milestones, the evaluation of projects and business processes and implementing risk mitigation strategies and improvement processes.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout our agency. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from when the Chief Executive Officer endorses the recruitment decision.

- obtain a current National Police Clearance Check prior to commencement of employment
