Network Development Officer
About the Role
The Road Planning and Development Branch lead the delivery of network development, road planning, network definition and project development services across the Western Australian State Road Network. The team leads strategic network development planning to identify future network expansion requirements based on land use projections and other broader State Government planning strategies.
This influential position works across a number of key areas with responsibilities including:
- Providing specialist support for strategic road network reviews and assessments;
- Analysing gaps in the existing network and identifying development strategies for future improvements and expansion of the road network;
- Supporting the classification of public roads into categories of State highways, State main roads and Local Government roads;
- Co-ordinating the proclamation and de-proclamation of State roads; and
- Contributing to consultations and liaison with Local Government in relation to network development initiatives and issues.
This position provides exposure to both State and Local Government, providing excellent experience towards a career in road planning and development.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess considerable skill, knowledge and experience in road classification, planning and development. You will also have proven experience in traffic analysis, including well-developed skills in modelling. The role will see you liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders and will therefore require considerable experience and capability in building and enhancing stakeholder relationships, as well as strong skills in research, analysis and problem solving.
