Level Crossing Safety Officer
Due to a steady increase in rail projects through enhanced engagement with the railway industry and in order to provide continual improvement to the state’s rail and road network, Main Roads has an exciting, new permanent opportunity for a suitable individual to join the Railway Crossing Branch. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about our "Safe System" philosophy, which has been applied to road projects and safety audits to ensure objectives are considered to minimise risk of injury.
About the Role
Working closely with the Level Crossing Safety and Policy Coordinator, when carrying out this specialist, technical support role, you will be required to conduct and check level crossing audits, Australian Level Crossing Assessment Model (ALCAM) assessments and propose appropriate safety management practices for Main Roads.
It is required that you have knowledge and experience in the development and monitoring of relevant data management systems as well as conducting safety assessments and reviews. There will be practical opportunities for you to recommend system and road asset improvements. Main Roads will provide ongoing, comprehensive training for a capable and motivated individual, in the context of their road safety strategy ‘The Road Towards Zero’.
