Route Management Officer (3 positions)
In response to the growing concern around congestion, Main Roads Western Australia has created a new Network Operations Directorate. This new Directorate is focussed on becoming a world class road network operator through developing improved capabilities in order to manage the exciting new challenges presented.
The Traffic Operations Centre (TOC) has the primary responsibility for monitoring and managing the Perth Metropolitan road network and it is a central contact point for real time traffic information across the state.
About the Role
In this role you will assist in improving the performance of designated routes to achieve agreed performance targets. You will assist in the development of strategies for the operation of the designated routes on the Metropolitan State Road Network and identify and provide assistance in the planning of executable solutions to improve route performance (journey times, reliability, productivity and efficiency)
Within this role you will provide support in the analysis of route performance data and input to investment decisions and projects, including signal timing reviews. Knowledge of leading modelling software packages to provide traffic signal intersection related performance advice and route improvement would be advantageous.
Your work will involve working with various stakeholders to achieve the required outcomes. You will collaborate with the Operational Modelling and Visualisation, Network Operations Analysis and SCATS / SVD teams, and other areas within MRWA as required.
For the successful candidates, an 18 months training program has been specifically tailored to provide structured development rotations and technical training across the whole of Network Operations to build upon their capability in undertaking the role of Route Management.
About You
You are a competent professional having sound skills, knowledge in action planning, route performance management and data analysis. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to assist in analytical and problem solving. Being able to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships and represent Main Roads professionally when collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure an all-inclusive network performance approach is adopted, across the entire network.
