Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the Mental Health Commission. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
Position Profile: The Mental Health Commission is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and dynamic individual to the position of Director Clinical Services. The Director Clinical Services will provide executive and clinical leadership to Next Step Drug and Alcohol Services consistent with the Mental Health Commission's vision, values, strategic directions and operational plans.
In liaison with the Director of Operations you will ensure the effective clinical management of Next Step's services and workforce. In this position you will lead innovation and change and provide specialist medical advice on the development and delivery of services for people with alcohol and other drug related problems. You will support the development and implementation of sound clinical governance and risk management processes. You will also oversee Next Step's medical education and clinical research activities.
Area Profile: The Mental Health Commission was established in 2010. To strengthen and better integrate the State's network of services relating to the prevention, treatment, professional education and training and research activities in the drug and alcohol and mental health sectors, the Drug and Alcohol Office amalgamated with the Mental Health Commission in July 2015. The new Commission enables the utilisation of both entities strengths and capabilities to enhance and excel in the delivery of mental health and drug and alcohol services across the state.
