POOL Recruitment for Twenty-four (24) months
The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all Western Australian students to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.
Successful applicants will be placed in a recruitment pool from which applicants may be appointed to a range of permanent and temporary full-time/part-time vacancies as they occur within the Authority. The pool will operate for twenty-four (24) months from the date of initial placement into the pool.
Principal Consultant - Examinations position is responsible for the development and evaluation of designated Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) course examinations (written and practical) and for the development and evaluation of designated Externally set tasks (EST). The position will liaise with officers responsible for ensuring the integrity of the post-examination processes and the integrity of the EST all of which ensure that final marks gained by students are fair and comparable across the State.
Principal Consultant - Examinations manages the appointment and briefing of examiners, independent reviewers and checkers for designated ATAR and EST courses. The role provides advice to the Authority’s Corporate Executive, committees and working parties on the development of examination materials and ESTs. The position also assists with the post-examination statistical process carried out by the Information Systems branch.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other ‘similar’ vacancies throughout our agency. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twenty-four (24) months from when the CEO endorses the recruitment decision.
