The Office of the Auditor General for Western Australia is an independent agency reporting directly to Parliament on public sector accountability and performance. As a Director you will:
- direct multiple project teams conducting broad or narrow scope performance audits, and investigations of government services and activities to meet business unit targets for delivering high quality, timely and cost effective reports in Parliament
- manage internal and external relationships at senior levels including with government agencies, broader stakeholders and Parliament
- advise and mentor team members and manage contractors
- advise the Assistant Auditor General on strategy, planning and policy to consistently achieve business unit objectives.
To be our ideal applicant you will have:
- extensive team leadership and project management experience in a deadline driven environment
- a background in auditing, evaluation, review, quantitative analysis, management consulting or other types of research
- demonstrated report writing skills, preferably in plain English
- excellent communication and client relationship management skills
- the ability to be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment.
We have 1 permanent full-time position available for immediate filling. Other suitable applicants will be placed in a recruitment pool. This pool will run for a period of 12 months and may be used to fill other similar fixed term and permanent vacancies.
