Job description
The ‘Public sector traineeships in Government (Public Administration)’ – will give you the opportunity to work in a regional WA public sector agency full time for 12 months or part time for 18 months while earning a trainee wage. On successful completion of the traineeship, you will attain a nationally recognised qualification of a Certificate II, III or IV in Government (Public Administration).
As a trainee you will:
- perform reception and administration duties
- process mail
- work in a team and contribute ideas
- use a range of software and technology
- use a range of office equipment
- deliver an excellent customer service
- work effectively and efficiently within a public sector agency
- use a range of workplace communication strategies
- work effectively with diversity.
A Public Sector Traineeship in Government will give you hands on experience and the skills to make you a valued member of a public sector agency.
Eligibility
To be considered for a traineeship through the regional stream, you are required to meet the following criteria:
ü live in regional WA
ü 17 - 24 years of age
ü minimum completion of year 10 or equivalent
ü an Australian citizen or permanent resident
ü committed to working full time for 12 months or part time for 18 months in an office environment within a public sector agency
Regional WA includes all towns and cities in the following regions:
· Gascoyne
· Goldfields-Esperance
· Great Southern
· Kimberley
· Mid-West
· Peel
· Pilbara
· South West
· Wheatbelt.

Future career pathway
On successful completion of the public sector traineeship, the Commissions Recruitment and Referral Service may assist you in securing another traineeship or entry level 1 position in the WA public sector.

It is recommended that you allow at least 15 minutes to complete the online registration, as you are required to fill out an Application Form and attach your resume.

Without this information, you will be unable to complete your application.
Within seven days of registration you will receive a confirmation email advising you have been successfully registered into the pool.
Remember to select your regional location and population centre when you complete your online application. This will ensure that you will only be referred for traineeships which are located where you live.
Remember, you have to be between 17 and 24 years of age to apply for this traineeship.
