Are you a dedicated Early Childhood Educator ready to make a meaningful impact in a school committed to high expectations and positive behaviour support? Leonora District High School (DHS) is seeking a passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our team.#

Located in the Goldfields-Esperance region, north of Kalgoorlie, Leonora DHS caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Leonora DHS has a long history of supporting the local community by embracing the Cultural diversity, that is Leonora. With 112 student enrolments, 79% being of Aboriginal heritage, the school embeds the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework throughout the curriculum.

The Role

The successful applicant will ideally have the ability to teach across the early years and primary school (Kindergarten to Year 6), adapting to class needs. A nurturing and inclusive teaching approach that supports active, play-based and inquiry-driven learning experiences would be highly regarded.

The successful applicant should utilise strong differentiation strategies to support a range of learning needs and behaviours. Familiarity with programs such as Letters and Sounds, Talk 4 Writing, Zones of Regulation, and Positive Behaviour Support is desirable. An understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), the National Quality Standards (NQS), and the Western Australian Curriculum would be highly regarded.

Willingness to build strong relationships with students, families, staff, and the broader community is a large aspect of our schools ethos. A commitment to professional growth and contribution to whole-school initiatives aligned with the school's business plan would be highly regarded.

The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Mobility appointments for permanent, metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position.  At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
