This is a 8 month fixed term, full-time position commencing as soon as possible with possible extension 16 months and/or permanency

At Northam Primary School (PS), we cater for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and currently have just over 300 students. Our students come from the local town and from the outlying farms and rural properties.

Our school fosters a safe and inclusive learning environment; we focus on building positive relationships with students, their parents and carers and with the wider community. Our staff, comprising of newly graduated teachers through to teachers with many years of experience and our experienced and dedicated non-teaching staff, work together to develop individual potential through excellence in education. We have specialist teachers in science, art, drama, languages and sport.

We aim to provide our students with a well-rounded high-quality education. We believe in developing the understandings, skills and attitudes relevant to individual needs, enabling students to fulfil their potential and contribute positively to the development of our society.

The Role

We are seeking a conscientious and dedicated Teacher with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. The successful applicant will ideally be actively involved in both the school and wider community, highly reflective about their teaching practice, and committed to evidence-based decision-making and differentiation. A willingness and capacity to lead the development and delivery of school programs and priorities would be highly regarded.

The successful applicant should possess the professional knowledge and skills to deliver an engaging, relevant curriculum using a positive, student-centred approach. Proven experience working with students of varying abilities, including multi-age or split-year groups, is highly desirable.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a willingness to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external networks to establish strong community partnerships would be desirable. We are looking for a relationship-focused Teacher who brings a consistent and transparent approach to classroom management. The successful applicant should be enthusiastic, innovative, and eager to take on leadership opportunities while working collaboratively in a team environment.

As a member of our teaching team, the successful applicant would implement effective, engaging, and innovative learning programs while working alongside colleagues to deliver the WA Curriculum through whole-school approaches.
