The Role

As the School Officer, you will ideally be the first point of contact for our school community. You will ideally have a friendly, positive and caring attitude; be self-motivated and organised, and demonstrate initiative. Ideally, you will have previous experience as a School Officer or a similar role. The successful applicant will ideally work as part of the administration team in a busy school environment. You should be an efficient and enthusiastic team member able to work both collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision. You ideally will possess the flexibility to move between tasks and be calm under pressure.

Along with the management of inquiries, student enrolments, maintenance of school records, management of the school’s public relations functions (website and social media) and administrative support to staff, the School Officer works collaboratively with the Manager of Corporate Services, the leadership team and the wider school community to support and administer the school’s physical resources and human resources. Responsibilities will include administrative functions related to building and grounds, coordinating and negotiating maintenance and repairs, overseeing the administration of out-of-hours use of school facilities, and maintaining key registers. The successful applicant ideally will support the coordination of relief staff, assist with the induction and support of other administrative employees, for example developing induction and training materials.

The School Officer will ideally also play a critical role in ensuring the smooth financial operation of the school. This includes tasks such as undertaking account and GST coding, reconciling financial records and processing invoices. School Officers also assist with month-end procedures such as transporting receipts to the bank and maintaining data integrity. The successful applicant ideally will be responsible for collating figures for financial planning and budgeting, which will help the school make informed decisions about its resources.

Experience and effective use of the Microsoft Office suite and RM Billing are essential. It is highly desirable applicants have experience in using or are currently undertaking training in the Kaartidjin student information management system.
