The Role
Harrisdale Senior High School is seeking a passionate and versatile Dance teacher to join our dynamic and high-performing Arts team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an energetic educator to inspire students through movement and creativity while contributing to a thriving culture of performance excellence.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Experience teaching across Years 7 to 12, aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum;
- The ability to teach a wide range of styles including contemporary, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, cheer, and acrobatic dance;
- Industry and/or school-based experience in dance performance and choreography;
- A willingness to support and lead extra-curricular initiatives, including our award-winning Harrisdale HEAT Hip Hop and Cheer teams;
- Flexibility to take on before-school (Period 0) and after-school (Period 6) classes, which are included in the teaching load;
- A collaborative approach, working closely with other Arts staff in a supportive and forward-thinking team environment.
- A background or willingness to teach Musical Theatre would be desirable, though not required.
Our purpose-built Performing Arts Centre provides an outstanding teaching and rehearsal environment, with high-quality facilities that support excellence in performance and learning. The school’s Dance program continues to grow in strength, with recent achievements including our Harrisdale HEAT Specialist Dance Teams being awarded Grand Champions in the Novice Dance Division at the 2024 Aussie Gold State Championships.
