We are seeking to establish a pool of Cleaner in Charge for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

The Cleaner in Charge will take pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness ensuring school facilities are cleaned and maintained in accordance with Department procedure to provide a visually pleasing and safe learning environment for our students, staff, and visitors to the school. They will ideally organise and order stock and equipment as well as manage hazardous materials and the Material Safety Data Sheet.

The Cleaner in Charge is responsible for organising and supervising the school cleaning staff including the relief for staff on leave, rosters and highlighting issues and concerns on behalf of cleaners, They will ideally manage cleaners time books and organise on the job training of new and current cleaning staff. They will ideally work as a team with school staff and manage staff performance in consultation with the Manager Corporate Services.

The suitable applicants will have strong interpersonal and team motivational skills and be happy to receive and carry out instructions as required. As Cleaner in Charge you will ideally be well organised and have good record keeping skills.
