Leinster Community School is a level 4 school located in the Goldfields Education Region, approximately 370 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie. It is a community school with a ‘One school ethos’ catering for students in kindergarten to year 12. Leinster is a 'closed' BHP mining town unique to the Western Australian mining community. We are privileged to work in a community with facilities provided such as a café, tavern, shopping complex, day-care and playgroup and complementary use of a 24 hr gym, 50m swimming pool and wellness centre. The wellness centre offers free pilates and yoga classes. The gym has fully accredited instructors who support the health and wellbeing of our staff, this includes fitness classes, community social events and sporting events. Teachers have access to up to 16 return flights back to Perth per year with no booking costs.

The Role
As the Gardener - Handyperson, the successful applicant will work to provide gardening, grounds and facility management to ensure a safe and clean school environment. You will maintain and present the school grounds and gardens in an attractive, clean and tidy condition, and provide a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management. The successful applicant will perform minor repairs and maintenance as requested, as well as other Gardener - Handyperson duties in accordance with the Department’s policies and guidelines.
The successful applicant should display effective communication skills, be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff and external stakeholders and ideally be able to work unsupervised, with the ability to identify and recognise work that is required to be completed. You should also be well organised, have attention to detail, a positive outlook and be a team player.
