The Role
We are seeking a Secondary Generalist Teacher with a strong secondary teaching background, who uses a range of pedagogies and a flexible and adaptive approach in applying the strategies of differentiated instruction and explicit teaching. The successful applicant will ideally have an ability to empower your students to take charge of their learning and build engagement in their education and employment pathways.
The successful applicant will ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos, and priorities across the school community. You will work collaboratively with your colleagues and build positive relationships with your students. As a teacher within our school, your expertise and endearing personal attributes will contribute to establishing and maintaining a positive classroom learning environment.
This role will suit someone who is relationship-focused, highly motivated, and passionate about creating exciting, culturally responsive learning experiences to ignite a desire to learn in students. Teachers and School Administrators employed at Mount Magnet District High School in 2025 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $8500 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
