The Role
Deputy Principal – Student Services and Strategic Development
Bunbury SHS, is seeking a committed, highly effective leader to join the Executive Team in the role of Deputy Principal – Student Services and Strategic Development.
You will work closely with the principal and the executive team to provide educational leadership in the school and the community. The successful applicant should have exceptional interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, capable of building and maintaining collaborative partnerships across the school and wider community to share ownership of the school vision.
The Deputy Principal will lead and model a culture of self-reflection, growth mindset and continuous improvement. This means keeping up-to-date with educational research and trends, using this knowledge to drive improvement and innovation within the school. You will also provide coaching and mentoring to those you line manage as you promote professional growth and leadership capabilities in our leadership team members.
As a member of the Executive team, you will play a critical role in leading and managing the school. The successful applicant will have the ability to build productive relationships to drive strategic change and have experience in creating enabling conditions through data informed decision making practices. They will demonstrate the use of effective change management strategies to develop the Positive Learning Environment of the school. At Bunbury SHS this includes, but is not limited to, the leadership of; SEL (Social and Emotional) Program in lower school, House and Club culture of the school, direction for student leadership program, Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework implementation and Year 7 transition.
We are a Gifted and Talented (GAT) school. The school’s highly successful Visual Arts Specialist Program and Bunbury Elite Sports Training Program supports a wide range of options for Bunbury SHS students. This role also includes the oversight of the Visual Arts Specialist Program (VASP). Additionally, in collaboration with the principal and other members of the executive team, you will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining systems, policies, and procedures for the efficient, effective operation of the school. Specific to this position is that you have experience to ensure strategic leadership of the Student Services team, ensuring the schools focus on student wellbeing is enacted to allow students to achieve to their potential.
