We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Tapping Primary School (PS) opened in 2007 and is situated on Wadjuk Noongar boodja. Located in the Wanneroo Education Network, our school is renowned for its exceptional educational programs and commitment to student success. Our school provides outstanding educational opportunities to students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

The Role

We are seeking Deputy Principals to join our team who are committed to making a difference and are ready to build upon their proven skills and abilities and take them to the next level. Suitable applicants should be motivated, practical, hard-working, innovative, resilient and possess outstanding interpersonal skills. They should have strengths in understanding and leading evidence-based, high impact instruction in literacy and numeracy. The leadership qualities and skills to build staff capacity and cultivate distributed leadership within a culture of high expectations is highly sought and proven experience would be advantageous. Suitable applicants should also have efficient, effective work habits and strong attention to detail.

The Deputy Principal will work closely with the Principal and members of the Executive Team to provide educational leadership in the school and the community. A significant responsibility of the Deputy Principal is to embed and maintain aspects of the school culture that promote positive relationships between students and staff, and engaging parents, caregivers and the wider community in the educational work of the school.

The Principal requires leaders who ideally have a proven capacity to build and support teaching teams to deliver consistent practice across the school with a focus on explicit and measurable outcomes. Building staff capacity through delivery of high-quality professional learning, classroom observation, feedback, modelling and coaching which will enhance the performance and development culture within the school is a highly desirable prerequisite for this position.

Suitable applicants will work closely with the school leadership team to lead and manage sustainable change towards improving whole school performance in relation to effective teaching and instructional practice. They should pursue excellence in classroom teaching, making student academic achievement the core of their work. Strong data literacy to drive robust planning and improved student outcomes is highly desirable. In addition applicants should possess the skills to support positive student behaviour, wellbeing and regulation across the school
