Southern River College is seeking a dedicated and passionate Mathematics Teacher to join our friendly team

The Role

The successful applicant should have high expectations, and display a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive classroom learning environment. You should be flexible, adaptive and able to apply the strategies of differentiated.

SRC is committed to appointing staff who are the right fit for our school and community. We have a strong commitment to delivering high quality learning experiences, and as such, the successful applicant would display the following skills:

  • a deep knowledge of the Year 7 to 12 Maths curriculum
  • outstanding application of assessment and reporting practices, which include a high level of data analysis skills to monitor the progress of students and classes
  • experience in planning and delivering programs for a range of students capabilities.
  • actively supporting the school commitment to Explicit Instruction (EI), will be central to the position and the ability to differentiate curriculum delivery.
  • Understanding of Visible Learning principles.

The successful applicant should possess an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and be able to teach students of varying ability levels across Years 7 to 12 in a highly engaging manner. We are seeking a teacher who is passionate about teaching Maths to both lower and senior school students. A desirable but not essential part of the role is the ability to teach lower school Science.

You will utilise evidence based culturally responsive teaching practices whilst employing a range of assessment and reporting methods. With effective interpersonal skills, you will work closely with students, teachers and the community to instil rigour, resilience and pride, allowing students to achieve their full potential..
