The School Of Special Educational Needs: Sensory (SSEN:S) is seeking to establish a pool of Coordinators - Teacher Services (CTS) for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

SSEN: S provides educational support for children with hearing loss, vision impairment or dual sensory loss in both public and non-government schools across Western Australia. The staff strive to meet the individual needs of learners by providing educational support for children and students while supporting schools to provide accessible learning environments, curriculum and school communities. Educational support is available across the public school and non-government system, from birth to Year 12. SSEN: S is part of a network of specialist schools which operate under the Statewide Services pillar of Service Delivery.

The Role

The role of the CTS is to assist the Principal and Associate Principals in planning and implementing all outcomes of the Strategic and Operational Plans. This includes leading a team of specialist staff through professional leadership, staff management, use of administrative systems and resources, facilitation of professional development and learning, and student case load allocations. Additionally, the Coordinators assist to develop strategic and operational policy and procedures and ensure educational leadership in the delivery of programs and services.

Suitable applicants will ideally display leadership and management capacity, effective communication skills, successful facilitation of learning and teaching, creativity and innovation, while maintaining a climate of respect and fairness in leading staff. Suitable applicants will also ideally display the ability to lead specialist teachers in the Performance and Development process. This includes up-skilling, mentoring, observations and facilitating professional discussions to ensure high-quality teaching and learning practices.

Experience working in sensory and/or disability education will be highly desirable, along with post graduate qualifications in a relevant field. The successful applicant will be located at one of our metropolitan hubs, unless negotiated otherwise to meet school need. This position may involve the successful applicant travelling and applicants should hold and maintain a current WA drivers’ licence.
